St John's

WELCOME to the Hall Church of St John the Baptist

sketch

St John’s is a Hall Church, built in 1957-58 to serve the people in the southern part of Kidlington, where there had been substantial post-war housing developments. It was always intended for both Christian worship and community use and that has continued to this day.

2017 saw the opening of the Kidlington Community Hub at St John's. We now have "under 5s stay and play" groups Little Bunnies on Mondays and Little Acorns on Tuesdays with Little Stars later on Tuesdays. And Now I am Two runs during term time on Wednesdays at 1pm. Drop-in sessions for parents/carers run alternate Fridays (including the Health Visitors Well Baby Clinic) and monthly on Saturdays. Also, in our sister church, St Mary's, we have Bouncing Babies on Wednesdays and Mothers & Toddlers on Thursdays.

St John’s exists to enable its people to follow the example of Jesus in his acceptance of all people with love, concern and understanding for their sake (John 13:34) that together we may come to know the love of Christ. (Ephesians 3:14-19)

The building is available for hire at all times when it is not needed for other activities. Local groups use it for regular activities, especially taking advantage of the spacious main hall, with sprung floor, which is ideal for dancing and exercise classes. It is also available for one-off events, such as family parties, fund-raising events, training meetings etc. For more info see here.
