2017 saw the opening of the Kidlington Community Hub at St John's and we usually hold a variety of activities throughout the week. Right now all we can offer is Bouncing Babies at St Mary's twice a week, see here
St John’s exists to enable its people to follow the example of Jesus in his acceptance of all people with love, concern and understanding for their sake (John 13:34) that together we may come to know the love of Christ. (Ephesians 3:14-19)
The building is usually available for hire at all times when it is not needed for church purposes. Local groups use it for regular activities, especially taking advantage of the spacious main hall, with sprung floor, which is ideal for dancing and exercise classes. It is also available for one-off events, such as family parties, fund-raising events, training meetings etc. For more info see here.
St John’s is a Hall Church, built in 1957-58 to serve the people in the southern part of Kidlington, where there had been substantial post-war housing developments. It was always intended for both Christian worship and community use and that has continued to this day.
We are obviously taking note of all guidance issued by the NHS and the Church of England. In this second lockdown there will be no "in person" services but the Lady Chapel will be open daily for private prayer. Do come along but please follow all the advice given there to keep everyone safe.
The whole parish is coming together in many ways, including a daily "Pause 4 Prayer" at 10am, live-streamed services on Sundays at 10am and Tuesdays at 7.30pm and several "Zoom Coffee Mornings". For details of all the resources on offer, please see the parish website kidhp.org.uk.
if you have any concerns and want to talk to someone then please contact one of the clergy: Martin or Felicity, see here for contact details.
